Fitness and strength are key determinants of your current well being, but also two of the best predictors of your future health.

A Fitness Forecaster provides a combined score of your aerobic fitness and your strength, benchmarked ‘for your age’.

As we age we see both our strength and fitness decline. Imagine levels of fitness that restrict your capacity to climb a flight of stairs without stopping for a breath, being able to carry your shopping, or getting up from the ground….

Knowing your current numbers is vital for us to work with you to implement changes that will translate into years of improved health-span. Years of having the right fitness and strength to do the things you want!

Giving you A PICTURE OF WHERE YOU ARE NOW SO YOU CAN SHAPE YOUR FUTURE

A benchmark of your current fitness and strength and strategies for improvement

Measures of both your aerobic fitness and strength

– Results are benchmarked to your age and gender so you have a clear picture of your current state.

– A comparison of your strengths and weaknesses so you know what to work on.

– Specific recommendations based on your results to set you up for future success.

– Strategic coaching to help you find ways to incorporate these recommendations into your everyday life.

When we plan for the future we need an understanding of both your current situation and your goals so that we can connect the two. The Fitness Forecaster is a great way for you to learn your current situation so that you can have the future you deserve.

Our results so far have demonstrated that when we put the right interventions in place, increases in our clients’ fitness and strength project a health-span improvement of 10-15 years.

How long does it take?

The fitness and strength testing session will take approximately 60 minutes of your time face-to-face at one of our clinics. However, you’ll only be exercising for about 20 minutes of this time.

How much does it cost?

The cost of this product is $149. For this you will get your aerobic fitness and 4 strength tests benchmarked for your age and gender (two upper body and two lower body). You will also receive a report of findings and a subsequent 30-min coaching session with an Exercise Scientist to help you interpret your results and plan your future exercise regime.

How hard are the tests?

The aerobic fitness test lasts about 10-15 minutes. While it gradually becomes more challenging, it is not a maximal effort. This test will get you to approximately 70-80% of your maximum heart rate which will make you feel like you are breathing harder but it shouldn’t feel uncomfotable.

The strength tests require you to try as hard as you can so long as you can perform them pain free. However, these tests generally do not last any longer than 30 seconds.

Do I get a report of my findings?

Yes. You will receive a two page report outlining your results as well as your recommendations as to how you can improve your fitness and strength scores.

Do I get the chance to discuss my results with a professional?

Yes. You will get the opportunity to discuss your results and potentials ways to improve them with an Exercise Scientists either face-to-face or online (whichever is more convenient for you).

What do I need to wear?

You will need to wear comfortable clothing that enables you to move freely. You will be exercising for about 20 minutes so this is enough time to work up a bit of a sweat so you may need to bring a change of clothes if you have to go to work or have other engagements after the session.

We have showers and changeroom facilities if you require these.

Can I do the tests if I have an injury?

Depending on your injury, some of the strength tests may not be able to be performed or may need to be modified. Some tests only take the strongest arm or leg so if one side is injured you’ll still be able to complete these.

If you’re unsure, please reach out and we’ll be able to go through your particular circumstances.
